Job Description

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in our engineering team? Do you have a passion for solving complex technical problems and driving innovation? We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Payroll team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Software Engineer will be required to work closely with Software Engineers, Senior Software Engineers and Product Managers, to design, modify, develop and deploy new features, as well as understanding and providing technical specifications for the project. The Senior Software Engineer works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentation of process flow.

What your day to day will look like..

As part of a Scrum team, you will contribute to all the phases of the development lifecycle Design, build and maintain software systems, with focus on reliability and code quality Maintain and enhance existing test plans and improve test coverage Utilise established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to PHP, Symfony and AWS Work with Product Owner and Product Manager to define / refine OKRs. Work with wider ELMO teams on cross product development. Consistently make conscious and pragmatic trade-offs in order to ship a product Identify & pragmatically apply better code standards, practices or toolings Mentor other engineers and assist in accelerating their career-growth, as well as your own.

Desired Skills and Experience

What we would like to see you bring to the team..

Bachelors degree of Science (B.S.) degree with a concentration in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, preferable Demonstrated 4-5 years’ work experience in Node, React, MySQL, preferably experience with PHP and Symfony Experience with identity management technologies, particularly SAML and OAuth2. Strong understanding of security best practices in identity and access management Demonstrated ability to write automated tests at multiple levels (unit, integration, e2e) Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Ability to dive deeper into complex problems methodically and be able to draft simple plans on releasing changes progressively
