Job Summary:


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Delivers solutions or finds new opportunities for a positive customer experience utilizing independent judgment, lead generation, and sales methodology.
  • Directs secured sales opportunities to the proper stakeholder(s), if required.
  • Initiates sales inquiries directly to prospective and/or existing customers to promote product offerings, services and capabilities.
  • Promptly, directs, and accurately responds to prospective or existing customer information requests.
  • Monitors/follows up on sales activities throughout the process to meet or exceed customer requirements from initial contact to order fulfillment.
  • Maintains and expands sales with existing accounts through a high level of customer service and customer knowledge (e.g., Distribution Total Available Market (DTAM), projects in pipeline, critical start dates).
  • Working in a team environment, proactively coordinates sales efforts and strategies with internal resources such as product, quotes, technical, marketing and suppliers.
  • Effectively communicates with customers regarding current product information and provides accurate and detailed pricing, quotes, and input on products and final solutions.
  • Coordinates existing customer requirements for inventories, delivery lead time and unit prices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Solid understanding of business, financials, products/services, the market, and the needs of assigned accounts. Understands emerging market trends and interdependencies impacting customers; leverages understanding to expand relationships with own customers. May be recognized as an expert in one area.
  • Complexity is high (territory/account, products/services, sales or account management process). Requires developed sales expertise across a defined portfolio of products./services/accounts; applies expertise in a complex sales environment.
  • Works independently to pursue or manage accounts/opportunities of various scales. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may serve as mentor to help develop colleagues' and customers' understanding. Has autonomy to set and negotiate product/service terms; plans own territory or account approach.
  • Collaborates with team and leadership. Has direct contact with clients and decision makers; participates in team sales for major accounts.
  • Works within broad guidelines and policies to develop business with new and existing customers


Work Experience:

  • Minimum experience required is typically 3+ years in direct sales, with a proven record of achieving sales targets.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
