Role & Team Overview

This role for a Platform Architect at AGL sounds pivotal in shaping the company's cloud strategy and technology landscape. It combines strategic thought leadership with practical implementation, requiring a deep understanding of emerging technologies and their potential impact on the business. Working closely with senior stakeholders and other architects will be essential to ensure a cohesive and forward-thinking approach. This position also emphasizes the importance of governance and documentation, ensuring that the cloud platform's evolution is well-documented and aligned with business objectives. The opportunity to influence and direct cloud-based product architectures in collaboration with various teams highlights the role's significance in driving innovation and growth at AGL.

What you’ll be doing

• Responsible for designing new and existing architecture patterns for AGL's cloud platform and ensuring thorough documentation.
• Ensure frameworks and architectural patterns comply with AGL's security standards and industry-specific requirements, facilitating accelerated technical solution delivery.
• Responsible for the adoption of architectural patterns, standards, guidelines, and guardrails to enhance the efficiency of engineering teams.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, influencing product direction through the application of the latest technologies.
• Prioritize the delivery of appropriate cloud capabilities at the right time, driving innovation and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the team to select tools, apply frameworks, and design principles that promote collaboration and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to drive decisions collaboratively, resolve conflicts, and ensure follow-through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Exhibit a self-learner mindset by continuously aligning individual skills with team demands and company success goals.

About you

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant fields with hands-on experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, and architecture.
• Advanced Technical Certification in Azure with expertise in the Azure Well Architected Framework and Enterprise-scale cloud architectures.
• Proficient in cloud and hybrid infrastructures, Azure networking, storage, and Azure AD, as well as cloud-based integration services.
• Knowledgeable in PAAS services, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and cloud security standards, with the ability to design secure solutions.
• Strong understanding of advanced Azure services, containerization, and AKS, with the ability to communicate business needs and solution value to stakeholders.
• Skilled in interpreting verbal and non-verbal cues, asking insightful questions, and understanding project needs and business drivers.
