Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert Isolations team are seeking an experienced Officer Isolation to join them on a permanent basis. The roster is an 8 days on, 6 days residential or FIFO in Cape Lambert.

Reporting to the Supervisor Isolation and working in a collaborative environment within a safety driven team that values inclusion will provide the isolation plans for fixed plant.

Working in this collaborative, challenging and exciting environment, your day to day remit will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting the permit team with reviewing the shut permits and mapping
  • Ensuring permits are prepared and remain compliant with our procedures throughout the permit to work process
  • Confirming that hazards and controls are clearly defined and signed off by authorised personnel
  • The preparation of work permits and assigning of Isolation Lists are specific to the scope of work
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure the isolation of equipment is undertaken safely, assist others with Task isolations and advice on isolations
  • Authorising the issue of Permits and Certificates
  • Demonstrate high level of attention to detail; drive continued improvements within the permitting & isolation space

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Self motivated and dependable
  • Exposure to hazard identification and management
  • An understanding of isolations, P&IDs, work permit processes, WHS requirements, legislation, and risk assessment processes
  • The ability to coordinate with multiple people across departments
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Clear understanding of integrated management systems, word processing, presentations and spread sheets, previous experience with SAP would be beneficial
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade Qualification (Electrical Preferred)

Where you’ll be working

Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
