We are looking for a highly motivated HSE Advisor to join our NSW Operations Team, playing a crucial role in providing HSE support across multiple sites in the Hunter Valley Region.
This HSE Advisor position is a permanent local role based out the Mt Thorley Office.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to.

  • Provide HSE advice and support to Projects and or Sites to resolve HSE issues and to improve HSE processes and performance.
  • Coordinate implementation of the HSE Management System, maintain HSE registers, and prepare HSE information and dissemination to others.
  • Monitor work practices to ensure adherence to safety and environmental procedures and standards.
  • Ensure all HSE processes and activities; JHA’s, permits etc. comply with relevant HSE legislation and company standards.
  • Facilitate meetings, trainings sessions; site inductions, toolbox topics and/or group discussions regarding HSE.
  • Establish effective relationships with Project/Business Unit HSE and Management.

What you will bring

  • Experience within NSW resourcing sector high desirable but not essential.
  • Certificate IV qualification in OHS and / or Environmental or related area is essential.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or similar is preferred.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Australian HSE legislation, mining legislation and industry standards combined with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Confident user of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) 
  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • An innovative approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and successful delivery methods.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver a message effectively.
  • A proactive, motivated mindset and someone who thrives when working under pressure.
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence 
  • Proof of right to work in Australia.
