About the Role
ALS Water in Scoresby, VIC, is seeking applications for a Full-Time Organics Team Leader  to lead the Organics team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Organics Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring the Organics Laboratory is run safely and efficiently to deliver quality results on time to all stakeholders using approved methodologies and leadership skills.

The day to day
The successful applicant will undertake a range of duties including but not limited to the following:

Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Quality Procedures Manual Maintaining and improving the level of safety across the department Supervision and training of Organics laboratory staff Ensuring production targets are met Ensuring high quality services to clients are maintained Plan and implementation of R&D projects Ensuring compliance with the laboratory’s QC requirements Troubleshooting and problem solving with any aspects of the department Managing departmental costs as an acceptable portion of revenue Creating value through technical leadership, industry knowledge, automation & innovation Any other duties as required.
The Essentials
At least 3-5 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory Hold NATA signatory for organic tests Demonstrated supervisory experience Demonstrated problem solving skills Genuine leadership and performance management abilities Experience with various organic instrumentation, including GC-MS; -MSMS; -FID. Excellent written and verbal communication skills A strong continuous improvement approach A determined focus to maintain a safe workplace for all employees Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients built on technical leadership and superior service delivery.
