Are you an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist looking to join a highly experienced interdisciplinary Allied Health team?

The National Capital Private Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and innovative Occupational Therapists to join our team. Hours and days can be flexible to meet the needs of both the hospital and the right applicant. Both part time and casual positions are available.

The successful applicants would be involved in providing services to either the inpatient rehab services and/or the acute medical and surgical wards.

The National Capital Private Hospital is a modern, progressive acute medical, surgical and rehabilitation hospital of 148 beds located in the southern suburbs of Canberra. The hospital has 8 operating theatres, an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, day surgery unit, medical/rehabilitation and surgical wards.   We are committed to providing innovate, progressive, best patient care.

 

As an Allied Health Professional, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive services to inpatients (including inpatient rehab, orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery, and ICU/CCU patients).
  • Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice
  • Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people
  • Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.
  • Independently managing a caseload and liaising closely with the occupational therapy team to provide excellent clinical handover.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current AHPRA Registration as an occupational Therapist
  • Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload
  • At least 1 year of previous hospital or rehab experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with highly developed communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
