John Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, cancer and critical care services. Equipped with advanced medical, surgical and diagnostic technology, John Fawkner Private is focused on meeting the growing healthcare needs of patients in our local community and surrounding regions.

The Hospital has an established reputation as a leading healthcare provider, achieving recognition in many specialties throughout the years. Specialising in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Cancer, the Hospital provides a comprehensive range of onsite medical and surgical services and delivering the highest standard in all areas of health care.

As the largest private hospital with the only private 24 hr. Emergency Department and Critical Care unit in northwestern Melbourne, John Fawkner Private works with highly skilled visiting specialists who offer subspecialty expertise.

John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long-established tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community, the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.

As a Theatre Technician your responsibilities will include:

· Assist nursing staff in the delivery of safe and compassionate care

· Transport to and from the ward

· Assist with the safe positioning and immediate preoperative preparation of the patient

· Assist with positioning and connection of equipment in the theatre as required

· Maintenance of a sterile environment

· Sound knowledge of theatre equipment and safe use practices

· Adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures

· Contribute to the efficient, effective, and economic running of the Perioperative Services team

Essential Criteria:

  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Theatre Technician
  • Working with Children check
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Work well independently and within a team
  • Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Operating Theatre Technical Support)
