Do you have a deep appreciation for the five safes approach to thinking about, assessing and managing risks associated with data sharing and release?An exciting opportunity has opened up in ACT Health’s Data Analytics Branch to lead, design, manage and oversee governance arrangements for the ACT’s health data.
The Data Analytics Branch is looking for an experienced, well-rounded, and engaging professional who will play a key role in managing and uplifting the maturity of data governance across the ACT Health Directorate and health ecosphere more generally, to meet the evolving needs of the directorate and government.
Strong written and stakeholder negotiation skills will be central to this role, based on a highly developed understanding of data governance arrangements including those relevant to data breaches, data linkage and data sharing in the health data ecosystem.
You will lead and guide work establishing legal, safe and ethical data management and use, that aligns with the ACT’s Government’s commitment to recognising and respecting human rights.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 28 June 2025 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
