Position Overview: The EL1 Assistant Director Evidence Synthesis will be instrumental in supporting the planning and execution of evidence reviews, including systematic reviews, living reviews, meta-analyses, and primary research endeavors. This junior leadership position may entail team leadership and management responsibilities, necessitating effective prioritization and workflow management. The successful candidate will have the autonomy and accountability to exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting legislation, policies, and procedures to achieve desired outcomes within our Federal Agency Client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage project plans.
  • Design and document protocols for various evidence synthesis methodologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive searches of scientific and grey literature in accordance with established standards.
  • Perform data extraction, quality appraisal, and synthesis of research findings.
  • Maintain accurate project records and leverage research software or platforms effectively.
  • Engage with stakeholders to interpret findings and facilitate knowledge translation.
  • Prepare and deliver research reports and recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
  • Provide methodological or subject matter expertise in areas relevant to our agency's mission.
  • Supervise a small team and support the professional development of junior staff.
  • Lead or contribute to broader projects across the agency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Social Sciences, Health Sciences).
  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence synthesis methodologies (e.g., systematic reviews, meta-analyses).
  • Proficiency in conducting literature searches and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management and team leadership preferred.
  • Knowledge of policy development processes and government frameworks desirable.
