: The Justice and Community Safety Directorate has a number of exciting permanent and temporary procurement opportunities available across the Directorate including in the ACT Emergency Services Agency, ACT Courts and Tribunal and ACT Corrective Services.If you have procurement and contract management skills and experience and are confident in providing advice on, and ensuring compliance with the procurement lifecycle, in accordance with relevant legislation, these opportunities may be for you.
The Assistant Director, Procurement will provide guidance and assistance to business units to ensure the timely and cost-efficient procurement and supply of consumables, goods, vehicles, and equipment while ensuring compliance relevant policies and procedures.
The Assistant Director, Procurement and Purchasing will also assist with other activities such as procurement related research and analysis, procurement strategy and execution, sourcing and purchasing activities, and assisting with the implementation and ongoing performance management of contracts.

Eligibility/Other requirements
Certificate IV or Diploma Procurement and Contract Management is highly desirable. A ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence is essential. Demonstrated experience in financial /procurement systems is highly desirable. Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Background / Security clearance checks will be conducted. This position does not require a pre-employment medical.Notes: ACT Corrective Services have one temporary position available for a period of six months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. The ACT Emergency Services Agency has two temporary positions available for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A merit list will be established to fill these and future vacancies that may arise over the next twelve months including (but not limited to) the above-mentioned Business Units.
