The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on demand energy and large scale storage for many generations to come.
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage the project and construction engineering function within the project team, whilst undertaking detailed engineering management and support to various Project Managers in project delivery.
The role will be a part of a project team or teams to manage a lot of the technical, procurement, material, construction, design coordination, on site engineering support and start-up and close out items. The role will also oversee the management of all aspects of the project where the allocation of a Project Manager is deemed unnecessary, these aspects could range from packages of work between $5M-$50M.
About You
- Substantial experience (typically 2-8 years) in the delivery of large scale projects especially around transmission line construction.
- High presence on the construction site during construction – noting that the construction site is within reachable distance from Transgrid’s Wagga Wagga office
- Working as part of a team in the design, construction and management of large, complex infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Positive mindset and attitude that reflects the team culture
- Technical knowledge in the construction of transmission line assets is preferable. Past experience in linear infrastructure such as pipeline or rail may also be considered
- Proven to work well autonomously.
- High standard of communication and writing skills, personal integrity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
- Experience in managing workplace/construction Health & Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Willingness to participate in peer mentorship and resources management.
- Willingness to grow career into a project management role – appropriate training will be provided
- A current Drivers Licence.
