Join our Social Inclusion team to lead a National Occupational Therapy service at Goodstart Early Learning. As the National Manager, you'll work closely with our Occupational Therapists and Team Leaders, Centre Directors, and Educators to support the care and education of vulnerable children.
You'll play a key role in developing evidence-based and holistic intervention approaches, fostering community connections, and utilising contemporary theories on childhood occupations, access and participation in Early Learning, and promoting inclusion for children and families experiencing disability, disadvantage, vulnerability, and/or Adverse Childhood Experiences.

Your Impact
The National Manager - Occupational Therapy will perform a range of managerial, professional, educational, and administrative functions to develop and deliver the Occupational Therapy approach contributing to all social inclusion, early learning, and capability initiatives across the organisation. Enhancing early childhood outcomes through provision of specialist inclusion advice, support, and coaching to our centre teams.
Broadly, the National Manager, Occupational Therapy is responsible for:
- The development and day to day management of Occupational Therapy services in Goodstart centres
- Overseeing documentation of the Occupational Therapy service
- Providing leadership to Occupational Therapists delivering services to ensure delivery of high quality, inclusive early years practices
- Providing leadership to the Occupational Therapy team to ensure families and children have access to high quality and timely supports; and
- Efficiently attending to administrative requirements, reporting and professional standards
- Maintaining a focus on high standards of Health and Safety, relating to Occupational Therapy Practitioners, Children, and all Goodstarters

You’ll bring to the table:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapyor equivalent
- Strong understanding of child development (birth - 5 years)
- Strong understanding of relevant early childhood frameworks and standards including the Early Years Learning Framework v2, the National Quality Standard and the NDIS Early Childhood Approach
- Strong understanding and ability to apply attachment theory and trauma informed practice
- Experience managing a team of professionals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and coaching skills including the ability to consult with relevant staff, teams, and professionals to achieve improved outcomes for children and families
- Ability to document, analyse and report on relevant key performance indicators
- Maintain a high level of ethical and professional behaviour, including preserving the confidentiality of children, families, and organisations
Desirable
- A knowledge of the service system including family support agencies and allied health services
- Experience in coaching and supporting the professional development of others
- Experience working in the child protection, mental health or allied health field
- Experience in using and analysing videos as a reflective practice tool for continuous improvement
