Job Summary:

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will manage a project’s supply chain operations and its assigned Supply Chain personnel to establish and implement the procurement and subcontract planning, acquisition, order administration, and delivery of goods and/or services where your team will execute the project Supply Chain plan, ensuring the monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and performance and that all contractual duties and obligations are met by all parties to each purchase order and sub/contract.

 

To be successful in the Supply Chain Manager role, you will need to have exceptional communication and relationship building skills to effectively liaise with all levels of the Project team.

 

The role requires an in-depth understanding of how technology can be leveraged to help attain business objectives, and the ability to work across functions/disciplines/businesses to promote and demonstrate the value of technology.

 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Participates with the project team on a large sized project in defining and developing the scope of work, and in preparing and coordinating Supply Chain plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets or manages project Supply Chain (procurement and/or sub/contracts) functional personnel in all operations. 
  • Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and claim avoidance and takes appropriate actions to protect Bechtel's interest and/or improve performance. 
  • Ensures the monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and performance and that all contractual duties and obligations are met by all parties to each purchase order and sub/contract.
  • Participates with the project team on a large sized project in defining and developing the scope of work, and in preparing and coordinating Supply Chain plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets or manages project Supply Chain (procurement and/or subcontracts) functional personnel in all operations for a small to medium sized project.
  • Oversight and support for Supply Chain team to negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors, analyse proposals and technical proposal evaluations, and coordinate technical scopes of work including interface with all project disciplines (including legal, project controls, construction, project management, engineering, finance, and customer).
  • Prepares recommendations and reports for contracting for major materials and services, taking into consideration legal, commercial, and financial factors.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.

 

 Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • Global experience in Project Supply chain Management.
  • Experience and thorough understanding of Supply Chain operations at both office and jobsite locations.
  • Based in Perth

  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience in formation and contract administration of large complex construction contracts and complex engineered equipment
  • Understand of site Supply Chain involving materials management, warehousing, supply quality, logistics and field procurement.
  • Skilled in managing personnel including interviewing, hiring, training, development, performance evaluation, career counselling, salary administration, and knowledge of personnel procedures and policy.
  • Thorough knowledge of planning, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Experience in working with the other functional i.e. Project Controls, Engineering, HSE, Quality and Construction to deliver project objectives
  • Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
