The Role

The Job

Working closely with The Editor, you will:

  • Break News stories, create accurate, concise and clear news content for multiple platforms.
  • Present News bulletins, Q&A’s, interviews and packages.
  • Actively identify stories that could be told to a national audience.

About You 

To join this team, you will need to be a highly motivated News Reporter with a thorough understanding of issues, events and stories that will engage and grow our audience.

We would like an organised, adaptable team player with initiative who is flexible and comfortable in a fluid, fast changing environment. You need to be calm under pressure and a skilled multitasker who can manage competing demands. You will have a positive, can-do attitude, enthusiasm for getting out and about to break stories, and the energy and tenacity to find and tell original stories. 

You'll also have:

  • Excellent editorial skills and reliable judgement.
  • Proven experience in live presentation and broadcast.
  • An understanding of local audiences and the news stories important to them. 
  • Exceptional communication skills to build positive relationships with people from a range of diverse backgrounds.
  • A current and valid driver’s licence.
