Due to business development, we are looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide continuous project support and ensure uninterrupted operations by actively participating in project planning, monitoring progress, and coordinating with different stakeholders to address any technical issues that may arise.
  2. Execute tests of construction materials and estimate materials costs, ensuring the selection and usage of appropriate building materials, concrete, rebar, etc. tailored to each civil engineering project. Monitor the quality and applicability of materials during testing and address any potential issues effectively.
  3. Assist in the interpretation of design specifications and drawing alignment by working closely with construction personnel to ensure a clear understanding of civil engineering design drawings and specifications, facilitating accurate implementation and minimizing discrepancies commonly associated with outsourced drawings.
  4. Assist in land surveying, drafting work, and utilize professional software for data collection and analysis.
  5. Offer on-site technical expertise and immediate issue resolution by being present at construction sites to provide immediate technical support, effectively troubleshoot challenges, and minimize potential project delays and related costs.
  6. Handle construction-specific technical challenges, such as civil and structural engineering problems, and material selection, and provide comprehensive technical support tailored to the unique demands of each project.
  7. Enhance technical coordination among construction teams and contribute to quality control measures by ensuring adherence to engineering standards, thus ensuring the successful completion of projects.
  8. Adapt to the evolving needs of construction projects and demonstrate responsiveness by quickly adjusting to changing requirements and effectively problem-solving to contribute to the agility and success of the projects.

Skills and Experience

  1. 2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this role.
  2. A strong knowledge of Civil Engineering.
  3. Tertiary qualification.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to engage with clients and subcontractors.
  5. Proven technical & customer service and problem-solving skills.
  6. Able to work autonomously and set priorities.
  7. Ability to work in a team environment.
