Systems Engineer - Townsville

The Systems Engineer will be a technical professional, responsible for the design, development, delivery and management of solutions in a hybrid (cloud and internal) environment. This position will advise on and ensure the availability, performance, functionality, security, integrity and integration of cloud services and internal services.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead technical initiatives across cloud and internal services, ensuring availability, performance, security, and integration.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to champion customer-centric solutions, contributing to the strategic vision.
  • Provide thought leadership on technology implementation, business improvement, and process optimisation.
  • Manage critical incidents and ensure business continuity with effective disaster recovery processes and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Develop integrations between cloud and on-premise solutions in a hybrid infrastructure.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, providing proactive insights to enhance IT services and systems.

What You Need to Apply for This Role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience, with formal qualifications in Service Management (ITIL).
  • At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, including 3–5 years in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in technologies such as Windows Domain environments, Microsoft Azure, VMware, and enterprise data protection systems.
  • Experience with scripting tools (e.g: PowerShell, Bicep) and networking technologies (e.g: Cisco, Azure Virtual Networks).
  • Knowledge of enterprise security technologies and application delivery controllers.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
