The primary responsibility of the Flight Simulator Technician role is to facilitate in the repair and maintenance of Ground-Based Training Simulators (GBTS) and Flight Training Devises (FTD).
 

Your responsibilities will include:

In this role, you will:

  • Install, test, repair and modify electronic equipment following technical manuals or verbal instructions.
  • Perform hand soldering of surface mount components to a high standard.
  • Assist investigations into non-standard technical problems to ensure simulator up-time.
  • Provide updates as required on technical aspects of maintenance and performance.
  • Maintain effective customer communications and relations and represent the Company in a professional manner.

About you:

To be successful in securing this position, you will have:

  • Good understanding of:
    • Digital Processing equipment
    • Audio-Visual equipment
    • PC, Server and associated LAN networks and systems
    • Communication systems
    • Experience with Linux OS
  • Good ability to work with Management and other non-technical staff to achieve successful outcomes for the broader organisation.
  • Well-developed problem solving, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Good self-motivation, ability to work in a very dynamic environment.
  • Good ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing conditions and customer requirements.

Special Requirements:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
