Data Scientist

2+ years experience working as a Data Scientist, ideally within a product focussed organisation. Solid SQL and Python skills with a passion for leveraging machine-learning algorithms and sophisticated statistical techniques. Our Customer Data Science team uses Machine Learning and AI to help create personalised experiences that millions of our customers love. 

Beyond a willingness to experiment and tackle complex challenges in the innovation space, core to this team’s success is our bespoke Recommendation Engine, which creates hyper-relevant experiences for the many Australians who choose to shop with Zip.

What you’ll own

Work on the development of AI chatbot to support our CX agents to move at Zipspeed Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (primarily across Product and Marketing) to optimise various processes and in turn, enhance operational efficiency or improve the customer experience. Analyse large, complex datasets using statistical methods to extract valuable actionable insights. Support with the development of AI innovation solutions using the latest techniques and technologies (e.g. LLMs)

Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role (2 to 5 years of relevant experience) Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, as well as experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn). Solid understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning techniques, with hands-on experience in model development and evaluation. Experience working with large datasets and proficiency in querying languages (e.g., SQL) is essential Experience in using modern data stack for end to end data science & analytics (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, DBT) would be highly desirable Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences Our values in your DNA: Customer First, Own It, Stronger Together and Change the Game
