About the role

As Leading Hand (Queens Park), you will be part of the Open Space Team and will be responsible for undertaking general grounds maintenance within Queens Park, the first park to be developed in Queensland.  The park is a key feature of the Ipswich Central area and has extensive gardens including Nerima Gardens, a bush chapel, playground and the Ipswich Nature Centre. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and maintain turf areas and gardens and assist with minor landscape construction works
  • Assist with the daily routines in the Ipswich Nature Centre as required
  • Identify and treat weeds and diseases in turf and gardens
  • Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current C Class Driver Licence
  • Immunisation against Q Fever and Rabies
  • Current LR Licence would be an advantage
  • Level 3 Certificate in Horticulture or related field would be an advantage

A pre-employment medical will be required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).

About the benefits

This is a permanent full time role at LGE Level 4 - 6 with a salary commencing at $64,571 plus superannuation of 12.5%.
