Due to growth, they are actively seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support their Finance Manager and contribute to the overall efficiency of their highly regarded finance team.

  
The Role
In this role, your main tasks will include detailed maintenance of financial records, contributing to the preparation of monthly reports, following strict adherence to accounting standards and regulations. Your duties will include but not be limited to:-

  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Business Activity Statements.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements and management reporting.
  • Support the Finance Manager during the annual external financial audit.
  • Generate month-end general ledger journals, and reconcile balance sheets.
  • Create ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Handle payroll tax returns and FBT returns.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Enhance financial reporting and analysis processes.
  • Offer insights and guidance on technical accounting issues as required.

  
About You
 
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator to both financial and non-financial colleagues/customers and excel within environments that prioritise teamwork, industry guidelines, continuous learning, and place a high value on customer satisfaction.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Business with a focus on accounting or equivalent, alongside industry experience.
  • Working towards CPA and/or CA, or already qualified.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in intermediate to advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Xero software is beneficial, along with CRM exposure.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software, spreadsheet applications, and database management.
  • Comprehension of accounting fundamentals, encompassing crediting and debiting principles, ledger entry procedures, and account reconciliation functions.
  • Thorough understanding of technical accounting standards in Australia, including regulatory obligations.
