Job Overview: As a Financial Accountant, the selected candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the financial health and compliance of the organization. Responsibilities will include analyzing financial data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic insights to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: The Financial Accountant will prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and regulatory requirements.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: The selected candidate will assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, offering variance analysis and recommendations for improved financial performance.
  3. Financial Analysis: Conducting detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identifying risks and opportunities, and contributing to business planning initiatives will be a key responsibility.
  4. Month-End and Year-End Close: manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  5. Tax Compliance: Collaborating with external tax advisers to ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), and assisting in tax return preparation.
  6. Internal Controls: Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and uphold the integrity of financial reporting is essential.
  7. Audit Support: Coordinating with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support to facilitate the audit process.
  8. Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process optimization, reporting enhancements, and efficiency improvements within the finance function.
  9. Ad-Hoc Projects: Supporting special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, leveraging financial expertise to drive successful outcomes. Qualifications:
  10. CPA or CA designation preferred.
  11. 2+ years of experience in financial accounting or related role, preferably within the Australian market.
  12. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  13. Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), taxation laws, and regulatory requirements.
  14. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
  15. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
