The Role

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure, the Cloud Services and Hosting Lead is accountable for the availability and compliance of server (on prem and in the cloud), storage, database and cloud platform services. Working with the support team (internal and external), you will own the lifecycle management, security and access control, and transition of new services into support.  Furthermore, you will ensure the infrastructure is at supported levels, in accordance with business requirements.

This will be achieved through:

  • Delivery of operational day-to-day of the server, storage, cloud platform and database services to the business.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor with key business stakeholders (internal and external) relating to cloud and hosting services.
  • Ensuring cloud services and hosting availability including involvement in incidents (during and after business hours).
  • Ensuring ITIL compliance for cloud and hosting services e.g change approvals, incident, problem and asset management.
  • Managing service provider and vendor operational governance.

Your Skills and Experience

  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent industry working experience
  • Experience with the following technologies:
    • Cloud platform – e.g Azure, AWS
    • Server hardware and operating systems – Cisco UCS, HPE, Microsoft OS, Linux
    • Database - e.g SQL, Oracle
    • Backup and storage solutions
    • Understanding of monitoring technology e.g ScienceLogic, Solarwinds
  • Excellent understanding of service management delivery methodology, frameworks and best practice
  • Experience with performance management of external IT service providers and suppliers
