We believe that what makes us great, is our combination of people passionate about what they do, coupled with our employee ownership model driving our behaviours and values.  All this means that at Beca, our people are part of the story.

In your role as an Intermediate or Senior Flood Modeller in the Melbourne office, you will be responsible for the delivery of current and future flood modelling for local and state agencies and major infrastructure projects primarily in Victoria. You will also collaborate on inter-disciplinary projects across Australia, playing a key role in:

  • Providing leadership and support to the team and wider Beca business
  • Collaborating with other design disciplines including Civil, Structural and Electrical to support the integrity of overall designs
  • Building and assisting in the development of flood models
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships internally and externally and contribute to effective client relationship management
  • Applying project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
  • Contributing to project proposals/bids

What we’ll like about you

You will have an appropriate Engineering degree, be either Chartered or near Chartered, and have a strong track record of successful project delivery. A keen interest in flood modelling and impact assessment in a consulting environment, will be supported by a solid foundation in hydrologic modelling (RORB), hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW, HEC-RAS) and first principles. Skills in GIS packages (QGIS, ArcGIS) are desirable.

You will also be knowledgeable in Australian Rainfall & Runoff 2019 guidelines and approaches, and possess a desire to grow yourself within the Beca business. Knowledge of working with and within Melbourne Water’s guidelines and requirements would be favourably viewed.

We have a no fuss, 'can do' approach and we are looking for a savvy, innovative and commercially minded professional. You will step into an open and supportive culture that values the skills that you can contribute to the group. It is an exciting time to be part of Beca and this fast-paced and diverse role will provide an environment that will challenge and stimulate you and value the contribution you could make to our organisation. Be motivated to work as part of a supportive team.
