What does the job look like?

Linfox Retail business is seeking a reliable and experienced Shunt Driver to join our dynamic team. This role primarily involves operating a shunt within our yard, with occasional store delivery responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork. This is a casual role/ad-hoc role, so flexibility and availability across the week is essential. Key areas:

• Driving the commitment to Linfox Safety Standards at all times, and ensuring that Vision Zero is a daily focus.
• Complying with the Linfox coupling and uncoupling procedure plus the ability to work unsupervised.
• Able to assist in loading and unloading when required.
• Good knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and road transport legislation.
• Safely operate a shunt around the yard to move trailers and containers as required.
• Ensure the efficient and timely transfer of trailers within the yard.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on shunt equipment and vehicles.
• Occasionally complete store deliveries as directed.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and delivery schedules.

• A valid HC licence is required.
• Proven experience in driving heavy combination vehicles.
• Experience with shunting operations is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
