Exciting Continuing Senior Lecturer role in the Adelaide Medical School, Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and joint appointment with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network.

The Adelaide Medical School, is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a joint appointment with the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, and will participate in the delivery of clinical services in the area of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

The appointee will be based at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and will be expected to participate in the delivery of those clinical services in an area of Obstetrics and/or Gynaecology. The appointee will supervise junior medical staff, and will provide leadership in teaching and research in the Adelaide Medical School. The appointee will further develop Obstetrics and Gynaecology as academic entities in the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

The appointee will report to the Discipline Lead, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as the nominee of the Dean of Medicine, Adelaide Medical School, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences for teaching and research related activities, and to the Medical Director of the Women’s and Babies Division, as the nominee of the CEO, NALHN for clinical duties.

Term of position:  Continuing joint position, appointed to the University of Adelaide and the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (successful applicant will be provided with two separate employment contracts).

To be successful you will need: 

  • Registered as a medical practitioner and specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist with AHPRA.
  • FRANZCOG (or equivalent).
  • Track record in administration, research and teaching commensurate with level.
  • Higher research degree (MD or PhD) or working towards same.
  • Experience in conducting high quality research in a recognised area of strength within the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
