Who Are We and What Will You be Doing

ICT Business Engagement is the primary entry point for requests for new technology solutions or significant changes to existing technology within our organisation. We handle initial engagements with organisational and external stakeholders, ensuring that our ICT efforts align with business needs and strategic goals.

Role Overview

As a Business Analyst within the ICT Business Engagement team, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include eliciting and documenting business requirements, functional specifications, and business rules that are clear and comprehensible to both business and technical stakeholders.

You will collaborate closely with solution architects, resource planning and project teams, business systems analysts, and systems officers to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Elicit and document business requirements, functional specifications, and business rules. Work directly with solution architects, resource planning and project teams, business systems analysts, and systems officers. Engage with organisational and external stakeholders to understand and document their needs. Improve short and long-term insights into customer requirements through effective engagement. Use customer-appropriate language and terminology to assist business units in their technology and solution choices. Support the creation of well-articulated business cases for new initiatives.

You are proficient in crafting clear and comprehensive functional specifications and business rules, and thrive in collaborative environments, working seamlessly with diverse teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated substantial knowledge and experience in business analysis best practices, methodologies and frameworks. Demonstrated substantial skills in consulting with business to develop business requirements, driving process redesign, and defining functional and systems requirements. Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills that demonstrate experience in applying business analysis principles and practices to a complex application environment.
