A rare and exciting casual opportunity is available for a proactive individual who prioritises quality and can problem solve while trouble shooting and repairing basic and intermediate electronic and mechanical machine faults.

The Position

As part of the Retail team, this role will work closely with peers and supervisors and is responsible for operating all equipment as trained and outlined in procedure manuals, performing maintenance on machines, repairs, maintaining a safe environment, identifying and responding to hazards and assisting in the procurement of parts.   

Key duties include:

  • Operate all equipment as trained and set out in procedure manuals.
  • Undertake machine maintenance in Dreamworlds Gamesite location in accordance with machine operating manuals.
  • Understand and apply quality control techniques to the business including ability to trouble shoot and repair basic and intermediate electronic and mechanical machine faults.
  • Exercise good interpersonal and communication skills with peers and supervisors.
  • Perform work under limited supervision.
  • Ensure all works undertaken are reviewed prior to commencing to ensure all safety and potential risks are identified and managed.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests by identifying hazards and responding appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records and alert the procurement team if parts are required.
  • Communicate with staff and management to support a culture of continuous improvement.

To be considered, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in similar maintenance role.
  • Restricted Electrical License (disconnect/reconnect, Test & Tagging).
  • An Electronics qualification is highly regarded and desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across evenings, weekends and public holidays, if required.
  • Team player mentality and the ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve mutual goals.
  • Capacity to show initiative and to work autonomously and independently at times.
  • Must be fit to perform the inherent requirements of the position including manual handling tasks such as bending, reaching and stretching plus long periods of standing and working in close quarters.
  • Attention to detail and an uncompromising focus on safety.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to Work, Health and Safety principles.
