About our team 

 

The Liquor Technology team is supporting one of the most significant technology changes within the Coles Liquor business through the Apollo Program. In addition, our team are also responsible for the day-to-day running of the technology that supports our Liquor business in both store and above-store areas. 

 

About the role 

 

As a Senior Business Analyst, your primary function will be to understand stakeholders’ business processes and be able to describe and define requirements in a manner that can be developed into technical solutions.  

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Enhance business systems by providing accurate information about business needs and priorities 

  • Work with and understand operational production systems and processes, with a particular focus on supply chain and replenishment 

  • Provides leadership and drives business initiatives to completion 

  • Analyse and consolidate information to develop business cases to support achievement of business objectives  

  • Provide plain language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences  

  • Build strong business partnerships and deliver detailed business cases  

  • Work with key stakeholders to identify how new business requirements may be delivered with existing IT solutions  

  • Be a key contact point for support teams in helping diagnose and resolve production issues, based on your knowledge of how those systems are functionally used 

  • Work with technical teams to understand system technical capabilities, functions and use 

  • Provide a deep functional understanding of IT solutions  

  • Able to translate business requests into Functional Specifications  

  • Establish relationships with stakeholders to develop trust and ensure reliable and accurate information  

  • Works across both single and cross-function projects / assignments  

  • Assist in Project Management and Governance  

  

About you and your skills: 

 

  • Formal tertiary qualification preferred  

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst working in retail environments and projects.  

  • Understanding of IT ecosystem, software development lifecycle, enterprise architecture principles, and user experience (UX) design.  

  • Highly collaborative style, able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholder to meet targets. 

  • Confidently presents messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner. Focuses on key points and uses appropriate, unambiguous language. Selects the most appropriate medium for conveying information and structures written and oral communication to ensure clarity. 

  • A demonstrated capability to analyse data and identify trends through that analysis 

  • Effectively balances commercial and customer needs.  

  • Communicates well in person and in writing  

  • Curious and committed to continual learning 

  • Strong experience in the development of business cases  

  • Experience in Agile Methodology  

  • Experience in retail environment mandatory  

  • Experience utilising tools such as JIRA, Confluence and SharePoint 

  • Values specialist expertise and capitalises on the knowledge and skills of others within the team and broader organisation.  

  • Strong Leadership skills
