Jefferies is seeking an experienced, ambitious and talented Associate to join its Investment Banking team in Sydney.

The Associate candidate will provide technical and industry advice for domestic and international companies on their strategic alternatives. The successful individual will be instrumental in the execution of a diverse set of corporate advisory transactions, working directly alongside senior team members.

Primary Responsibilities:
The full range of responsibilities to investment banking at the Associate level Work closely with various sector and product teams, execute buy-side and sell-side M&A and debt and equity capital markets transactions (cross-border and domestic, public and private) and provide strategic advice to corporate and private capital clients. Assist in drafting and preparation of client presentations, board reports, Information Memoranda, Prospectuses, and other client material Participating and supporting transaction execution, due diligence, execution and negotiation Work closely with senior professionals to conduct financial analyses including financial statement and valuation analyses; assisting in development of financial models; company and industry research Support corporate finance transactions, which include M&A, equity issuance, IPO, leveraged finance and other debt market transactionsRequired Background:
Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree level qualification + years’ experience in corporate finance and strategy, with a strong preference for specific investment banking experience Experience would ideally include executing both sell-side and buy-side M&A (including cross-border and domestic, public and private); preparing client presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; performing financial valuation analysis and building financial models; conducting industry and product research; analysing corporate and financial information; participating in execution of M&A and financing transactions. Strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills Strong understanding of corporate and investment finance Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail in aspects of work product A resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as a team player Client-first orientation with capability in managing multiple stakeholders on transactions Supporting, mentoring and developing junior staff Deep understanding of financial statements and financial modeling Solid understanding of M&A processes and ideally have end-to-end experience in project managing and executing transactions-
