About your new role:

Energy Queensland is seeking a permanent Skilled Fabricator to join the Substations group located at the Brisbane (Banyo Depot) , and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates. 

The Substations group is accountable for substation high voltage primary plant maintenance, construction, fault response and the delivery of services under the EQL Service Level Agreement.

You will be a member of a multiskilled team that provides support to the mechanical workshop as well as the building construction crew.


The successful person will work as a valued member of a Fabrication team that is responsible for a range of activities including fabricated maintenance of workshop plant & equipment, sheet metal work and assistance in construction of modular buildings.

Most importantly, you will be striving for continuous improvement ask you contribute to safety, quality, and job satisfaction targets.

Annual salary starts at $108,859k + 14.75 Super + applicable allowances + 9-day fortnight.

About you:

Important to your success in the role is your: 

Qualification in a recognised Metal Worker Fabrication Trade (Sheet Metal Worker or Boilermaker) with demonstrated ability in Alum, stainless and steel welding from 5-6mm for sheetmetal or 6mm to 30mm for Boilermakers. General knowledge of construction processes to assist in the construction of modular buildings. Relevant industry experience in the operation, installation, repair and maintenance of plant, machinery, and equipment. Ability to operate within Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) requirements for quality, safety, and risk assessment compliance. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships in a team environment and are a strong team player. Dogging and rigging qualifications will be highly regarded along with other general industry tickets (see position description). You will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
