About The Role: 

The Product & Commercial Team deliver competitive and sustainable product offerings and propositions across the Australian market through providing the data, insights and expertise across pricing, commercial and product capabilities. The team are ultimately accountable for the optimisation of our gross margin across our product offerings and work closely with the wider business to carefully balance this priority with acquisition, retention and cross-sell/upsell objectives that collectively make up the Customer Markets view of commercial performance.   

 

As the Senior Manager, Core Product (Chapter Lead) you will be responsible for lead a team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering market leading propositions and products for our customers and the lifecycle management of existing products across residential and SME product strategy and innovation, ensuring alignment across product roadmaps and ever-evolving customer needs and market trends. 

 

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • developing the long-term product strategy and vision for AGL, including creating and maintaining a product roadmap with key milestones and decision points.   

  • creating innovative and sustainable business models for new products and ventures, ensuring alignment with market needs and Customer Markets objectives. 

  • Ensuring product and proposition managers have access to timely, high quality customer data, user feedback and competitor and market analysis to inform product and proposition development and optimisation. 

  • Supporting the successful delivery of initiatives that require the collaboration across multiple product and proposition managers, ensuring ongoing alignment and consideration of wider commercial and business implications. 

  • Conducting financial analysis to assess the viability and profitability of product strategies and recommending adjustments as well as identifying and assessing potential risks associated with product strategies, developing mitigation plans to ensure successful execution. 

 

 

About you: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, with experience in product strategy roles and proven leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams and inspire a culture of innovation. 

  • Strong analytical skills for comprehensive market analysis, identifying trends, and evaluating opportunities and ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable product strategies. 

  • Solid understanding of financial analysis, including cost modeling and revenue projections and proficiency in developing innovative and financially sound business models for new products and ventures. 

  • Demonstrated success in bringing new products or ventures to market with a focus on business growth and in-depth knowledge of the industry, staying abreast of market trends. 

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
