About the opportunity

Primary Purpose/Focus of the role is to provide quality interpreting services for patient care.

  • Additional items regarding the role can be found in the P.D

  • Collaborate with Mercy Hospitals Multicultural Services Team to assist in cultural appropriate patient care.

  • Experience in interpreting in acute hospitals in Australia, including knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent time management, organisational and interpreting skills.

  • Minimum experience of 3-5 years working as an interpreter

  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient services.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite essential
  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.

  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
