Platinum Pacific Partners is currently working with an early stage, high profile and innovative family office in the search for a Head of Finance. Dynamic and innovative environment lead by high performing executive team, diverse investment portfolio spanning Venture, Listed Equities, Infrastructure and Real Assets coupled with a genuine passion across philanthropy. It is crucial you are a self-starter with a can-do attitude and experience with building a Finance function and small investment teams.

This is the first internal hire to the Finance team, so you will have the scope to build and expand this team over time. The finance function has previously been outsourced so you will interface with a tax adviser and a team of four (who run bookkeeping, BAS, prepare tax returns).

Working within a high performing collegiate boutique environment, you will play a pivotal role in the firm’s development and success with key responsibilities including:

  • Directing and overseeing all aspects of the financial, operational, compliance and reporting functions, including the management entity and active funds
  • Forecasting, budgeting, transaction execution, structuring and co-ordination with all investee companies and underlying operating businesses
  • Overseeing the group’s tax framework
  • Management reporting
  • Providing executive management and advice on the financial implications of business activities

Your background:

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Previous experience within a fund management environment (asset owner or asset manager)
  • Private Equity or Venture Capital is highly desirable, but not essential
  • Strong Financial Modelling
  • Experience with building a Finance function and leading operations/technology
  • Demonstrated track record in creating or implementing systems and processes (e.g. payroll system)
  • Ability to partner with CEO and investment teams and build great relationships as a trusted partner
  • Ability to think strategically and clearly: independently come up with ideas, solve challenges and communicate to the team
  • High level numerical, verbal reasoning and IT skills
  • Ability to influence and change behaviour
