Role Overview

UMENCO is recruiting a group Chief Financial Officer for a high-growth Australian RTW brand with a significant retail footprint.

In this role, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for developing, controlling, and administering the financial activities of the organisation.

Reporting to the CEO and relevant executives, they will operate as a key member of the executive leadership team, delivering commercial advice and assistance in all financial, accounting and business operations that will ensure planning, budgeting, operations, sales, and marketing activities consistently meet the company’s corporate revenue and growth goals.

The successful Chief Financial Officer will lead and develop the finance team to ensure the integrity of financial management information, as well as taxation and other statutory compliance.

Alongside this, they will be responsible for maintaining and improving overall administration processes, internal controls, and IT-based finance systems, implementing financial reporting tools, dashboards and templates across the organisation.

The Chief Financial Officer will have an innate understanding of business operations and will leverage this to actively lead strategic planning, budgeting and performance monitoring processes, being accountable for evaluating and reporting on the financial aspects of any proposed development, new stores, capital expenditure, investments, or sale or acquisition of assets or businesses.

They will also ensure statutory and legislative compliance throughout the business in Australia and internationally and operate as a liaison point for outside advisers including legal, external audit, and financial institutions.

The talent we seek will be a certified practicing accountant with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance management position in a retail specialty or FMCG environment, preferably within a global company.

They will have exceptional problem solving abilities; be analytically and technically adept; possess strong IT and numerical abilities; hold a broad knowledge of accounting principles; and will be able to leverage their innate aptitude for communication and leadership.
