The Role:
Director | Outside School Hours Care (OSHC / OOSH) | Inner West of Sydney

Lead a not-for-profit, community-based and genuinely focused OSHC service that prioritises quality, autonomy, and meaningful relationships with children and families. About the Role:
This role is designed for a leader who’s ready to bring both professionalism and personality to a community-based stand alone NFP OSHC service. You’ll take on the role of Director with autonomy and respect, crafting a positive, child-led environment aligned with the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) V2.0 principles, where children’s wellbeing, curiosity, and agency are at the heart of everything.

  • Above Award Salary: Offering from $100K + super, with the potential for more based on experience / qualifications.
  • Flexible Leadership: Enjoy flexible hours and block shifts that support work-life balance while allowing you to be present in the service when it counts. Initially, split shifts will be in place here and there or a breadth across all shifts as you build relationships with families and the community, embedding yourself as a trusted and familiar face.
  • Quality Driven: Use your knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standard (NQS) to inspire quality practices that exceed expectations, with an emphasis on community connection and continuous improvement.
  • Empowerment and Autonomy: Lead with independence, guiding a dedicated team to foster a safe, inclusive, and vibrant space that supports each child’s unique journey. Support the Educational Leader to create child-led programs that honour children’s agency and autonomy, engaging them in meaningful, play-based learning.
  • Connection with Families and Community: This role goes beyond administration—you’ll be the face of the service, forging strong bonds with families and establishing a sense of belonging that enhances the overall experience for children and parents alike.
  • Supportive Leadership: Work alongside an encouraging Principal and team, and align with goals and initiatives, driven by the values of care, play, and education.
  • Day to Day and Strategic Operations: Enhance service efficiency and cultivate a continuous improvement methodology to enhance critical reflection, along with managing CCMS, etc.

About You:
You’re an experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment. Ready to make a genuine impact, you understand the importance of connection, autonomy, and quality. Whether you’re stepping up into your first Director role or are an experienced Director looking for a fresh start, your skills, insights, and respect for families and children will be valued here.

  • Experienced in OSHC: Ideally, you bring 4-5 years of hands-on experience in leading and nurturing a thriving OSHC program, with a commitment to quality and engaging programming.
  • A Strategic Leader: You’re confident in your knowledge of the NQF, NQS, and MTOP, with the ability to lead a team that fosters a safe, engaging environment where children’s agency is always at the forefront.
  • Relational and Personable: Building relationships with families and the community comes naturally to you, and you’re skilled at adapting your communication style to connect meaningfully with others.
  • Growth-Minded and Reflective: You’re committed to reflective practice and continuous improvement, creating a culture of quality and collaboration within your team.

Child Safeguarding:

Looking for an individual that will understand, adhere to, and promote The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (the Child Safe Standards). In your position, you will help to take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.

Child safeguarding methods for this position, include, but are not limited to:

  • A NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain.
  • Thorough screening.
  • Reference checks.
  • A national criminal history check.
