The opportunity

The Senior Advisor, Media & Content will act as a storyteller for Greater Western Water, finding and sharing good news stories about the work we are doing to create thriving people and country. You will play a key role in, proactively managing issues and reputational risks, delivering timely and accurate media responses, managing emerging issues, and advising on strategic media engagement. You will work collaboratively to maximise Ministerial and media opportunities, events, and stories for Greater Western Water.

Responsibilities

• Lead the way in creating and executing impactful media strategies and plans
• Craft and execute Ministerial and media events and initiatives to tell compelling stories about our GWW projects.
• Source and develop content ideas and generate high-quality content that can be used in various media and across different platforms.
• Ensure the GWW brand is presented in the best possible way across all our external communication platforms.
• Build relationships with key government and media stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

• Qualifications in public relations, communications, or journalism-related discipline and/or demonstrated senior experience in a similar position.
• Significant experience in a media, communications, or similar position
• Emergency or crisis management experience.
• Ability to handle sensitive, reactive media.
• Ability to develop relationships with media organisations, if not existent already
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and interpersonal skills.
