Melbourne, Australia Suncorp Group Full time

Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

  • Significant program with far-reaching change impacts from the implementation of new data platforms
  • Collaborative and customer focused, supportive team culture, hybrid working
  • Join a chapter who is truly passionate about Change Management and upskilling for the future

We’re never just satisfied with how things are – because we know how things could be. And it’s our expert Technology team who forge ahead every day to make those ‘what ifs’ a reality.

Welcome to a place where you can chase real progress and drive real change. And that includes your own career. Being a part of Technology at Suncorp Group means being switched on, endlessly curious and always adaptable. In return, you’ll be supported to bring your own ideas to the table and challenge conventions – with the aim of making life a little brighter, simpler and better for our customers and each other.

About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on Organisational Change Manager to join an award-winning Enterprise Delivery Change Management team that supports a variety of medium to large scale programs across the Suncorp Group. As an Organisational Change Manager, you will create and execute change management plans to support our stakeholders through ongoing change.

This role will initially be required to support two key Enterprise Data transformation initiatives that will be fundamental to transforming the way Suncorp acquires and manages data across the organisation. This includes the replacement of legacy systems and processes with Fivetran (data acquisition & movement) and Collibra (data quality) solutions. These initiatives are critical strategic priorities that will modernise the way we interact with data, simplifying and uplifting the data sources on which the organisation depends. This role will support projects being delivered in a continuous delivery model (Agile).

In addition to strong communication and change management skills, you will have excellent stakeholder engagement (especially senior stakeholders) and coaching skills to ensure changes are embedded for our impacted teams. You will be equally skilled in managing complex, technology driven change impacting back office support teams as you are in managing behavioural, people or process driven change impacting customer facing teams. You will use innovation and resilience to deliver effective change management outcomes when there is uncertainty or ambiguity and be able to manage your own workload when there are competing priorities.

A demonstrated ability to deliver Change, Communication and Learning activities for an Enterprise data transformation program is desirable. Experience in understanding data acquisition and management and its far-reaching impact across an enterprise is preferred.

You will join an Enterprise Change team made up of supportive and highly experienced Change practitioners and leaders who care about our team’s development and wellbeing. You will also be part of a wider Enterprise Change Management Community of Practice where ideas and best practice are shared via masterclasses and knowledge sharing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Utilise existing Organisational Change Management frameworks and tools to devise and execute ‘fit-for-purpose’ change, learning and communications plans
  • Manage and execute change activities across multiple initiatives, streams, or squads (e.g. Change Impact Assessments, Communication, Engagement, Learning, Reinforcement etc.)
  • Ensure learning is designed and delivered appropriately for capability gaps that are identified
  • Be hands on with the design, development, and implementation of change management, communication and learning deliverables
  • Manage change across different types of programs, projects and initiatives, from large scale technology changes through to detailed frontline business process changes, as business needs require
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, becoming a trusted change management expert within the Tribe, Program and/or Project team and proactively collaborating with impacted business stakeholders to build trust and foster co-creation of change activity
  • Understand complex, technical changes and translate into simple, easy to understand concepts
  • Providing communications to key stakeholders to drive a clear narrative across all aspects of delivery, linking activity to strategic and customer outcomes
  • Hands on coaching and ongoing support for business SMEs within Agile squads to ensure the successful delivery of change activities and artefacts

About you:

  • 5+ years project and people engagement related change management experience – Mandatory; experience with Agile desired
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver Change, Communications and Learning activities for large-scale transformation or technology projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience in understanding how changes impact an end to end value chain is also highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience with large scale technology implementation, experience with Fivetran and Collibra is highly desirable.
  • Confident in your ability to work autonomously with a strong understanding of what Change activities are required through each stage of a project.
  • Experience working closely with technical SMEs with the ability to translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand business language.
  • Able to utilise the Change Management Framework and templates and apply them as required
  • Excited to be part of a large change management community at Suncorp and share your ideas
