The Role:

Fantastic opportunity to join this close-knit team, within a busy Queensland State Government department. As a Procurement Officer, you will:

  • Maintain and enhance procedures for the entry and amendment of data within the supplier databases.
  • Develop and maintain the supplier databases in Ellipse and IRIS, verify supplier information.
  • Manage and coordinate systems to ensure suppliers' licenses and insurances are current and provide regular reports on suspended/cancelled licences.
  • Effectively monitor and manage internal and external correspondence, incoming and outgoing telephone calls and ensure responses are provided within required time frames.
  • Connect with local suppliers as well as internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services.
  • Produce high quality tender, and quotations for Correctional Centre minor works projects including tender documentation.
  • Assessing and preparing accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages; including material lists and construction programs.
  • Assisting in the development and research of estimating, costing, contract administration and contract cost management practices.
  • Working effectively with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to maximise service delivery, achieve business costs savings and satisfy client requirements.

You:

The successful candidate will have excellent administration and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite including Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in a procurement officer role.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and other policies and legislation relating to procurement is highly regarded.
