The Opportunity:  

Urbis' is growing and we are bringing our Archaeology services to Melbourne

We have an opportunity for two experienced Archaeology Consultants to join our team and take part in the Archaeology service expansion.

In this role you will demonstrate an understanding of Archaeology and Heritage principles to undertake a range of tasks independently and as directed, in relation to the day-to-day operation and management of work in the Heritage team.

This includes having the ability to contribute to both historic and Aboriginal archaeology, field work, preparation of high-quality archaeological assessments, advice to clients (including advice on legislative requirements and technical archaeological advice).

You will:  

Contributing to practical, technical and strategic advice on a range of archaeology and heritage subjects. Undertaking consultation and fieldwork – in accordance with the relevant guidelines and protocols Demonstrating high level research, interpretation, report writing and communication skills; Working across a wide range of applications with an ability to contribute to proposals, tenders & submissions for potential projects; Assisting in the undertaking of projects, client and other stakeholder relationships and work to specification and deadlines;

About You:  

Tertiary qualifications in archaeology; and Relevant experience in the archaeology industry. Demonstrates a proficient understanding of and ability to apply statutory heritage legislation, principles and the Victorian Heritage Act (2017) and the Victorian Planning and Environment Act (1987) to resolve and advise on projects; Ability to undertake archaeology and heritage research utilising multiple sources and methodologies to present accurate preliminary assessment of findings;
