 About the opportunity:

This is a pivotal role in which you will collaborate with the business to provide an environment which supports the efficient development of integrated financial and non-financial plans to support future oriented organisational outcomes. You will handle all traditional finance activities for your assigned region e.g. month-end, budgeting, forecasting etc. but also challenge the business through insightful analysis to highlight opportunities to improve future operational performance.

This position is based in the heart of North Sydney, surrounded by an array of excellent cafes and restaurants, making it a vibrant and convenient location to work.

Further and detailed accountabilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:

  • Partnering with and challenging the business by raising queries or analysis regarding top line growth and cost drivers, enabling improvement initiatives.
  • Business Planning and Analysis; business reviews, rolling forecasts, ensuring a detailed understanding between forecast and actual business performance.
  • Assisting Business Managers with budget planning, providing an understanding of gap analysis between target and forecast, supporting business managers to identify and quantify opportunities and risks.
  • Investment Appraisal: prepare business case and financial feasibility assessments for investment proposals as required and facilitate the completion of post-investment audits.
  • Performance reviews: manage the delivery of monthly results and validate performance.
  • Complete market and competitive position analysis, to provide an understanding of product price and margin.
  • Providing analytical insight to EGM's, CFO's and GM's.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Accounting, or similar fields.
  • CPA or CA qualified
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience within the Concrete, Aggregates, Construction, heavy, industrial manufacturing or related sectors will be an advantage.
  • Advanced computer skills in Google Suite and Excel.
  • Leadership ability and the potential to grow as a leader.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking attributes.
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills - being able to interact with colleagues at multiple levels within the organisation.
  • Sound written communication skills - able to prepare a plan and schedule documents, proposals and reports.
  • Sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills - establishing, communicating effectively with technical specialists, site personnel and all levels of management.
  • Strong organisational skills.

Further to above you will be methodical, with strong attention to detail and be willing to work on a wide range of projects and tasks involving site visits and at times work irregular hours. You will enjoy participating in multidisciplinary teams and be level-headed and down to earth with exemplary standards of ethical conduct and professional judgment. This will be complimented by your positive, resilient, curious and goal orientated nature and by your clear ability to find ways to put together solutions that add value.
