Strategy Consultant

  • Work for a large Insurer focusing on strategy plans within the mergers & acquisitions space
  • Looking for someone with strong financial modelling skills and a financial/mathematical background
  • Initial 3 month contract – great opportunity for someone immediately available

About the opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Strategy Consultant with a strong background in financial modelling, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and a deep understanding of financial and mathematical principles to join our client who are a leading player in the insurance industry. This is a 3-month initial contract role with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a strategy consulting role, ideally within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Strong financial modelling skills with a deep understanding of financial metrics, valuation techniques, and scenario analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions, including deal evaluation, financial structuring, and integration planning.
  • A strong mathematical and financial background, with a degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of delivering strategic insights.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, VBA, or relevant M&A tools).
  • Experience within the insurance industry or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management and regulatory frameworks affecting the insurance sector.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing financial models to support strategic decision-making for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate finance activities.
  • Advising on M&A transactions, including financial due diligence, valuation, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborating with senior management to define and refine corporate strategy, with a focus on improving business performance and driving growth.
  • Analysing and interpreting complex financial data to deliver actionable insights that align with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations, and proposals for key stakeholders and board-level decision-makers.
