This role is part of the Business Services Group, Banking department. Business Services Group is responsible for the provision of banking and payments services to Australian Government agencies, the provision of payment settlement services to Australian financial system participants through the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS) and the Fast Settlement Service (FSS), the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the production and issuance of Australian banknotes. Banking Department provides a range of banking services to Australian Government departments.

Oversee the direction of a business change related functional, operational or technical area, while leading and developing individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes. Manage delivery of changes to Banking Department's systems in close consultation with related teams established within the Information Technology Department (IT).

You will be working in an Agile based environment, working on delivering modern banking services with a particular focus on ISO, BECS, NPP and Core Banking for Australian government agencies to leverage in serving all Australians. You will contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership for Change Delivery.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership for Change Delivery. Contribute to the improvement of policies, systems and processes that enables the support of large and complex project activities.

  • Develop and maintain the implementation of change strategies, framework and practices to identify and respond to issues, risks and opportunities, maintaining key controls and ensuring appropriate processes are in place.

  • Manage internal and external relationships, communicating and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders to successfully deliver change.

  • Represent the Department on industry working groups. Manage readiness and implementation tasks, ensuring training and system documentation is supplied to operational areas.

  • Ensure that the Department’s systems have the capacity for accommodating future products and services, liaising with architects and developers as required.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Department’s target business architecture as required.

  • Ensure operational accountability in regards to people management, budget and processes for Change Delivery.

  • Enable and recognise workforce performance in a way that encourages continuous improvement.

Your background

To be successful in this critical role you will bring;

  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing and motivating small and large project teams

  • Significant experience in stakeholder management and experience in representing the department across the Bank or similar organisation.

  • Knowledge of Agile project methodology will be highly regarded

  • Experience in banking systems, business and operations, including NPP and BECS applications
