: Procurement ACT is seeking a high-performing Senior Director (SOG A) to lead a Sourcing, Advice and Supply (SAS) team.Reporting to the Executive Branch Manager (EBM), Goods and Services, the Senior Director has the role and responsibility for undertaking the management of a team of procurement officers for a SAS team, delivering advice and facilitation of complex procurement projects to a collective group of Territory directorates and agencies; and for effectively contributing to the planning and transition of the Goods and Services Branch to a tiered serviced delivery model under the Procurement Reform.
Working closely with Territory Directorates, you will be involved with facilitating a range of diverse goods and services procurements, with many directly relevant to our local Canberra community - such as events, schools, hospital services and medical equipment, ICT software / hardware, professional services, sporting fields and similar.
The Senior Director leads the work of the SAS team to ensure consistently accurate, timely, and customer-focused advice and support to Directorates and agencies, suppliers and the public through all phases of the procurement lifecycle. Advice will support evidence-based decision making that is conducted with probity and can withstand scrutiny.
A key part of the role includes transitioning the SAS team and the Branch to a more effective and efficient tiered service delivery model under the Procurement Reform Program and enhancing the services relating to strategic and proactive establishment, use and management of whole of government arrangements, including supplier and buyer feedback mechanisms. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Educational and professional qualifications checks and /or police and security may be undertaken prior to employment.
Relevant tertiary qualifications of interest include a Certificate IV in Government (Procurement & Contracting) or a Certificate VI Advanced Diploma of Government (Procurement & Contracting); or the ability to obtain certification based on prior experience; or tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, business administration or the equivalent or evidence of study.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
