ABOUT THE ROLE

As a JJ’s Operations Manager you will lead our Perth Depot (based at Bayswater). 

Your main responsibility is to lead our driver team to effectively manage our daily operational goals to ensure collection of commercial waste services. 

This role calls for a ‘hands-on’ leader ensuring team engagement and an understanding of principles that underpin excellence in transport operations.

You will be working with a safe, well maintained and serviced, modern and reliable fleet,

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the business
  • Manage operations on a day-to-day basis 
  • Lead, mentor and train driver team
  • Ensure a high level of service always maintained for customers, team members and stakeholders 
  • Coordinate and optimise fleet utilisation
  • Plan for business growth 
  • Comply with laws, regulations and requirements including OH&S and return to work processes
  • Identify business enhancement opportunities and potential solutions 

ABOUT YOU

  • Have a current HR (Heavy Rigid) License with heavy vehicle driving experience
  • Experience in transport, logistics or service industry 
  • Results orientated, assess performance gaps, can ask the hard questions, and enable the solution
  • Able to motivate and advocate for employee engagement – build employee trust
  • Possess a drive and hunger to build a positive team environment and culture
  • Show demonstrated experience in management processes including associated administrative components
  • Well-developed people skills and excellent time management 
  • KPI focused with the ability to perform under pressure
  • IT savvy with well rounded practical capabilities in Microsoft suite and the ability to learn task specific software
  • Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
