About the Role
The Nursing Manager will be responsible for ensuring patient care excellence, while supporting a learning culture, interdepartmental collaboration and efficient teamwork.   With the support of senior nurses in each department, you will have plenty of time for management tasks, strategic planning, clinical nursing, and coaching/mentoring. This role will suit a Nurse with broad knowledge of clinical skills, strong leadership traits, good organisation, time management and a passion for education.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coaching and mentoring across nursing teams
  • Supporting nursing seniors to be able to succeed in their role
  • Prioritising learning and development across the team, supporting seniors to facilitate training
  • Liaise a variety of stakeholders across the business
  • Management and ownership of the nurse rostering, across the hospital.
  • Regular one on one check ins and team meetings including performance conversations.
  • Policy implementation and process improvement
  • Hands on clinical support as required

  

About You:

This position will suit a nurse who can work independently with a reliable, adaptable and proactive approach, in a fast-paced environment To be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following;

  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Approachable and friendly attitude with commitment to the culture and values of SASH
  • Passionate about continued education
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working in an extremely busy environment

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in a qualified nursing position
  • Prior experience leading and managing a large team
  • Experience working at a referral or specialist hospital is highly regarded but not essential
