We have an opportunity for a R&D consultant with one to two years of experience to join our growing Tax Consulting division here at Pitcher Partners Brisbane.

We are a full-service tax consulting division of over 30 members, one of the largest in Brisbane, but with a strong team focus and vibrant work environment. We have a mature book of R&D clients together with industry leading processes and frameworks to ensure client success and sustainable outcomes.

What you will bring

You are an individual with one to two years’ experience and a solid understanding of the R&D legislation and its application. You have experience in preparing R&D registration applications for clients of different size and complexity, as well as the associated calculations for inclusion in a client’s income tax return.

You have strong writing and communication skills and are able to digest information and succinctly summarise for R&D application purposes. It would be looked upon favourably if you have a STEM background (either by way of tertiary qualifications or work experience).

The role will require you to:

Undertake eligibility assessments Meet with clients (together with a Manager) Prepare technical and expenditure aspects of the claim Review documentation Complete the lodgement process Collaborate with stakeholders (i.e. Managers and Partners etc.).

You are looking to work in a role that values your existing R&D skills, and you are excited for the opportunity to learn other aspects of tax advisory and compliance disciplines to assist you in becoming a muti-disciplinary tax consulting and accounting professional (should you already have any Corporate Tax or accounting experience this will be considered favourably – but is not required as we can provide all necessary training to skill you up).

You are willing to explore new concepts and be open to learning new skills to better assist everyone in the Tax Consulting division.

You have a desire to expand your career (as you develop your skills and progress) in a value-adding tax advisory capacity working on a wide range of clients – including small to large, domestic, and cross-border businesses, private equity / venture capital funds, listed companies and significant Government Owned Corporations.

You are also keen to seek new business development opportunities and identify growth opportunities in the R&D tax practice as well as the overall tax practice. You are excited to participate in marketing the practice and providing government incentives and grant awareness to our clients.

The Team

The Pitcher Partners Tax Consulting division adopts a flexible working approach to assist all team members. This role allows for a level of remote working (work where you or your team needs you to be). However, the role of an intermediate R&D Consultant/Accountant in the medium term will be predominantly in-office to engage and share interest in developing and collaborating with others in the team.

On a day-to-day basis you will be interacting with leading tax partners Simon Chun, Tom Splatt and Murray Graham, as well as our Directors David To, Meagan Kachel, Jeremy Pacheco and Marianna Knight. You will also be supported by a community of supportive and talented managers, supervisors, accountants and support staff.
