St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1500 students in 2024. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site.  As such, the College is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis is about to complete the 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.

A permanent full time position commencing as soon as possible or 14 October 2024. The successful applicant will be required to teach the curriculum-approved Japanese Language.  The Classroom teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe, and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in a curriculum-approved Language specialty.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers, and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The ability to teach another subject in addition to Languages.
  • The ability to teach Religious Education.

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Language(s) and Religious Education
  • Level C Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
