PLG venue The Golden Fleece Hotel in Melton is looking for an experienced Full-Time Sous Chef to help lead and inspire the Kitchen team alongside the Head Chef.  

What will my responsibilities be?

  • Support the Head Chef in managing and training a diverse kitchen team
  • Implement and manage  Food Safety Plans
  • Prepare and cook menu as per cooking guidelines and set standards
  • Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to develop and implement menus
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • In conjunction with the Head Chef, lead the kitchen and maintain order during service times. 

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookers or equivalent
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Experience working in a pub/bistro environment
  • Well-versed in all kitchen areas with hands-on experience
  • Experience with kitchen operations and functions and ability to cook a broad range of food items
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment
  • Flexibility to work a range of hours across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to follow and give directions when required
