Chef - Subiaco

 We are currently recruiting for qualifiedChef to join our team at Bethanie Subiaco Aged Care Homeon a  permanent part-time basis (30 hours perweek).

Bethanie Subiaco is a 112 bed luxury facility that provides thefull range of aged care services including dementia support,palliative care and respite services.

We are looking for someone who is available to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday (6:00 am to 2:00 pm) andThursday (9am to 5pm) .

About the role:

Manage the preparation and cooking of meals on site Produce well-presented nutritious meals using fresh ingredients where possible Assist in the menu development where practicable Order all food stuffs and stores necessary to produce menu items within budget guidelines Adhere to the approved cycle menu on site Manage portion control and wastage on site Ensure all dietary requirements for residents are met Act on customer and supervisor feedback in order to evaluate and improve service Direct and train staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques Comply with Food Safety programme and procedures as outlined in the Hospitality manual Comply with any relevant legislation covering food safety i.e. Food Act and Food Standards Code

About you:

Previous experience as a Chef/ Cook catering for 100+ people Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent Ability to supervise other members of staff when required Experience in ordering food stuffs, and awareness of waste management Excellent time management skills Empathy towards the elderly and specific dietary needs Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards code Willingness to uphold the vision, mission and values of The Bethanie Group Current National Police Clearance, or willingness to apply for one Willing to obtain required vaccinations – COVID 19 (minimum of 3 doses) and annual flu vaccination
